Sascha Prinner: In one word: diversified. No day is like the other, every day is like a surprise-egg, you never know what's in it.
In addition to my main task, the management of my team of 20 people, there are numerous other activities such as the continuous improvement of production processes, interface communication, the introduction of measures to ensure the safety of my employees, shift and holiday planning, control of time recording, plant planning, problem solving, and much more.
Sascha: In leadership seminars the lighthouse principle and the right communication is always taught and written about competences. I handle it the way the well-known professor Fredmund Malik writes in one of his books: "What really matters is something much simpler, and that is a minimum of manners." I think that the most important quality is the decency and a certain amount of good manners, which makes cooperation much easier.
Sascha: Our success is measured by the key indicators of rejects and delivery performance, and it is also right and important to do so.
However, I measure my personal success in another "key performance indicator", which I believe is at least as important: the motivation and satisfaction of my employees.
This key figure is more difficult to measure, but for me it is the basic requirement for measuring the above key figures and thus for making a contribution to the success of the company.
Sascha: The production is the heart of the company, so there are numerous interactions with other departments. In daily business these are the departments Customer & Vendor Processes, Press & Finishing and Process Engineering. In addition, Design Engineering, Research & Development or, for new projects, often Industrial Engineering.
Sascha: Besides working in a great team, I love the diversity, variety and the daily new challenges. But I also appreciate the fact that I can actively use my passion for the art of printing and bring out my professional skills and strengths in my work.
Sascha: As in their products, the combination of many components:
- family business
- the perspective of individual persons
- the passion and identification of its employees, regardless of their origin and culture
Sascha: I find it fascinating to get into unpredictable situations again and again and to be constantly confronted with other challenges, which we successfully implement or solve together as a team. This increases the motivation for the next task.
Sascha: Everyone has to contribute, and for this they deserve recognition and compliments. For me, this begins with a simple 'thank you', which is not as self-evident in these times as it once was. But the highest appreciation and motivation can be achieved by giving responsibility, using the individual strengths of the employees and letting people grow with challenges. In my opinion, the potential of a team can best be used with the right support in one place or another.
